About the Newstead Hotel:

Located 5 minutes from the heart of Launceston and built in the 1850s’s The Newstead Hotel has become an iconic venue in the city. With a sensational Bistro and adjoining kids play room the hotel is equipped with 2 bars and over 30 Electronic gaming machines, keno, and function rooms.

What you can expect in a day in this role:

In this role, you will be responsible for attending to inquiries from our gaming patrons, preparing and dispensing beverages, and providing exceptional customer service.

Some of your day-to-day duties will include:

• Managing and maintaining gaming functions and operations
• Managing TAB functions
• Day-to-day operations of gaming rooms
• Assisting patrons with both food and beverage orders, inquiries and complaints
• Uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards

What you will bring to the role:

Along with excellent customer service and the ability to take initiative you will have:

• Demonstrated cash handling proficiency
• Knowledge of all gaming machine regulations, compliance, operations, and procedures
• An understanding of food & beverage products and services
• A professional & mature “can do” attitude with the ability to work autonomously
• Current Responsible Service of Gaming Certificate (RSG)
• Current Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (RSA)
• Keno Writer & Gaming Machine Attendant or Senior Keno Writer and Gaming Machine Supervisor Certificates
• TAB experience would be an advantage

Please note to be successful in this role you need to be able to work a variety of night and weekend shifts, which may include public holidays.
